I hate denim, but I love see through lace flares. And Free People. And skulls. And summer. Happy Friday everyone and ta-ta for a whole week. I am traveling to El Salvador for work and will be back with great photos to share soon.

Went downtown this weekend with this lovely lady for a change of scenery. I love downtown LA and miss being there {I used to work downtown}, but rarely find myself wanting to make the drive to go back. I am turning over a new leaf though and plan to not be the West LA girl who never leaves West LA. May is not too late for a new year resolution is it?

{H&M sunnies but I love these and top, Urban Outfitters pants and shoes-similar here}

A bright, sunny day deserves bright neon colors, but since that day was also a weekend day that I had to work comfort was key. These Zara pants are perfectly comfortable and so colorful I think they will be on constant rotation. Happy Monday everyone!

Last night I went to see American Idiot {the musical} and it was amazing! Hung out in downtown LA for a little bit and remembered how much I love it. Perfect weather and big city-esque feel with all the lights and walking around {in my new Zara flats} made it a great night. The show is playing until the 22nd at the Ahmanson Theatre so if you have a chance you should definitely go see it. We got tickets from Goldstart but you can also find them on the American Idiot the Musical website {here}.

Just because I love fashion does not mean I want to always give up comfort for it. These are the most comfortable pants I have gotten recently and I cannot wait to wear them with everything! I wore a version of this outfit out last weekend in San Francisco to a comedy club, but it was raining and the pants ended up getting tucked into boots. These pants are so great though – I ended up just looking like a really cool genie. Happy Friday everyone!

I’m starting with the man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways
and no message could be any clearer
if you wanna make the world a better place take a look at yourself,
and then make a change
When I blog, try on outfits, dance around…I listen to music and love love love Michael Jackson. This song came on as I started uploading photos and seemed fitting. I lately have been a bit of a downer {I blame reoccurring sickness}, but finally feel like I have the energy to change my attitude and get back to my old self {it could also be I just don’t like winter unless there is a snow covered mountain}. Either way I am embracing my extra cheesiness with song lyrics and photos with smiles for days….and more green for St. Patricks!

Another cold LA morning, but this time I was ready. Leather on leather is the perfect remedy for the chilly weather and to look biker chic. Not that I have ever rode a motorcycle-I can’t even remember the last time I rode a bicycle, but maybe the motorcyle thing is just something to add to my list of to-dos. Even if that is not in the near future I defintely will keep this pieces in rotation through the winter.

The transition from summer to fall in LA is always a hard thing for me. Everyday starts off so cold I can barely leave my warm bed, but then by noon its so warm I spend the rest of the day removing layer after layer. I have found that this outfit is the perfect ‘go to’ for these transititional days.

I have owned this vintage dress (and by dress I mean little old lady’s moo moo-with hand painted flamingo’s to boot) since the beginning of summer, but could never get it to look like anything other than a little old lady’s nightgown when I put it on. <Insert plain white tee> I don’t find my style to be excessively girly so by combining the casual element of a t-shirt with this silk vintage find I instantly achieved the perfect balance. I did however find myself questioning why I had not thought of this simple solution sooner. Luckily, living in Southern California provides for warm enough weather to wear dresses year round so it has now earned a spot in the front of my closet.

After two years in LA I still have a dozen coats safely sealed in their space bags-wishing for a day to come out and play. When I saw this sleeveless trench (actually supposed to be a dress) I knew it would be the perfect layering piece for the warm California weather. It turns out it has become one of those ‘cant take off’ pieces and I have worn it almost every day since I got it.
