Went downtown this weekend with this lovely lady for a change of scenery. I love downtown LA and miss being there {I used to work downtown}, but rarely find myself wanting to make the drive to go back. I am turning over a new leaf though and plan to not be the West LA girl who never leaves West LA. May is not too late for a new year resolution is it?

Last week was not as warm and glorious and this past weekend, but it was perfect to pull out this vest. I love a long waistcoat style silhouette and if a little fur can be added – well that’s just perfect. Glad to have gotten to wear it one more time before it gets too warm {fingers crossed this is a true statement}.
I think the perfect fitting tee is a never ending search. Lucky for me I have now joined Stylemint and will be getting monthly recommendations for new styles based on my style. The greatest part is they are actually super comfortable and cute. I couldn’t resist the funny, yet slightly pessimistic text for my first choice and will be excited to see what new ones come out each month. In my book it is another win for Mary Kate and Ashley and love the way their brand continues to expand.
Happy {belated} New Year everyone! I am happy to start of the New Year with a list of things I want to improve on in my life and I must say it has been ever so easy to stay positive and motivated with the sunny weather here in California. While I think it is good to make new goals and changes I also believe it is important to stay true to yourself. True to myself {in fashion at least} will always include leopard and so that is what I am starting my year out with… and hopefully a new layout for my blog. Stay tuned!
I have owned this vintage dress (and by dress I mean little old lady’s moo moo-with hand painted flamingo’s to boot) since the beginning of summer, but could never get it to look like anything other than a little old lady’s nightgown when I put it on. <Insert plain white tee> I don’t find my style to be excessively girly so by combining the casual element of a t-shirt with this silk vintage find I instantly achieved the perfect balance. I did however find myself questioning why I had not thought of this simple solution sooner. Luckily, living in Southern California provides for warm enough weather to wear dresses year round so it has now earned a spot in the front of my closet.
